Game #010: Fat Sumo

Start Screen

Controls: Arrow keys to move.

Difficulty: Easy, progressively harder

Objective: Make your sumo eat as many of the foods on the screen as you can, but avoid the blowfish (yellow things) at all costs - they will either make your sick, or even kill you, which is game over. As you progress through the levels, your sumo and the food grow larger, but so do the blowfish.

Creator: UGO Player

Rating: 4/5 - Fat Sumo is one of those fun, not too taxing little games to play, which can actually get quite addictive. It is very simple to play, but not too simple, and with levels to progress through, at least you're not playing it that aimlessly, although there could possibly be a little more to the game. Nonetheless, Fat Sumo is one of the funnier games out there.

Games Master Challenge: Score over 500 points.

Game #009: Sim Taxi

Controls: Up to accelerate, Down to brake, Left and Right to steer, N and M to toggle the music on and off. Further controls are in-game.

Difficulty: Easy

Objective: Ferry your passengers around the town to their destination (there is a compass to guide you), so that they pay you money. Watch out for other cars and pavements, because hitting them will damage your car, and hitting police cars will result in a fine. The money you receive gradually goes down the longer it takes for you to get the passenger where they want. Bear in mind that you need to keep your passengers happy, too. The money you earn is used for fuel, and to fix repairs. Don't wreck your car, or run out of fuel!

Creator: FreeOnlineGames

Rating: 3/5 - Sim Taxi is a fun little game to play, especially if you are the kind of person who enjoys playing these sort of games (see objective). The game has fairly good graphics, although they could be better, and the game can run a little slowly at times. The controls are also quite complicated. However, there are many things to watch out for, meaning that you can't drive around recklessly. This adds a real feel or realism to the game, which can either make it more or less fun, depending on what you like. Whatever you do like, still give it a go!

Games Master Challenge: Drive at least 20 passengers to their destination.

Game #008: Frost Bite

(Don't expect any more updates on The Game Void until after Christmas!)

Start Screen

Controls: Arrow keys to move, Mouseclick to use grappling hook, and defeat enemies (see further in-game instructions).

Difficulty: Easy, progressively harder

Objective: You need to advance through all the levels with your character, defeating as many enemies as you can, as well as collecting bonuses, to earn points.

Source: Miniclip

Creator: Nitrome

Rating: 4.5/5 - Frost Bite is a truly great game, even if it doesn't seem to manage to get into that group of elite games, which people always remember. The game has fun, cartoon-like graphics, with several levels to advance through, which are filled with enemies, bonuses, and things to help you climb up the levels. The game has been beautifully-made, with barely any faults, except for the fact that the levels can become a little tedious after a while. Make sure you don't miss out on this great game!

Games Master Challenge: Complete the game.

Game #007: The Stupid Test 3

Play Games at AddictingGames

Controls: Mouseclick and/or Keyboard, depends on the question.

Difficulty: Medium, progressively harder (lots of trick-questions)

Objective: To answer all of the questions correctly - beware, if you incorrectly answer a question, you have to go all the way back to the start.

Source: AddictingGames.com

Creator: AK Games

Rating: 3.5/5 - Even though this game has been done before, in different forms (such as The Impossible Quiz games), The Stupid Test 3 still impresses me, with many various questions, most of the answers really just common sense. There is little else to say about this game really, except that it really can bruise your ego if you get a question wrong, and the chances are you will. The Stupid Test 3 is a great game, (perhaps not as good as some of The Impossible Quizzes), just not for your ego...

Games Master Challenge: Complete the game.

Game #006: Trials 2

Update: From what someone said on a comment (which I managed to cleverly delete), Trials 2 is only 3D on the bought version and the graphics are supposed to be really good. Therefore, please disregard any parts of the rating where I criticize the game for not being 3D as that information is incorrect. However, I still believe that the online version should be 3D, especially seeing as it means those who do not use American currency can't get the better game. I apologize if I may have misled you.

Start Screen

Controls: Up to accelerate, Down to decelerate, Left and Right to lean.

Difficulty: Medium

Objective: To complete all of the levels with no (although more likely) as little falls as possible. More levels are available if the game is purchased.

Source: Miniclip

Creator: Red Lynx

Rating: 3.5/5 - So, here comes another one of those Dirtbike games, where you have to advance through all the levels, without crashing. Except, according to the creators, Trials 2 is 3D! Unfortunately, it doesn't really live up to that standard (on the web version). Despite being a very, very slick game, with amazing (even if not) 3D graphics, Trials 2 still fails to impress me. It manages to be like most 3D games - slow and quick to crash your web browser. The handling of your bike is too stiff, in the words of someone I know, and that person is right. The stiffness of the handling makes you prone to crashing. But what annoys me most of all, is the games non-stop attempts to get you to do download the full version, especially seeing as it asks for American currency, which we happen not to use here in Britain. Well, I doubt I'll be downloading this game any time soon...

Games Master Challenge: See if you can complete all the levels (on the web version), with a combined total of less than 10 falls. Good luck - because you'll need it with this game.

Game #005: Deep Freeze

Controls: Arrow keys to move, Spacebar to fire gun and kick frozen enemies, Mouseclick to pause and turn sound off (click icons in corner).

Difficulty: Medium, progressively harder

Objective: The game is quite similar to a Super Mario game in some aspects, but with Santa Claus instead. Freeze your enemies with your gun, then kick their frozen-selves and collect the presents for points, as well as power-ups and extra lives. There are bosses to defeat, too.

Source: Miniclip

Creator: Miniclip

Rating: 4/5 - Another Wintery game is Deep Freeze, and it is a game well-worth playing. It is in the form of a Super Mario game, with similar sound effects, and some nice background music. The game is easy enough to play, but addictive, with several levels, and challenging bosses to defeat (it's a shame you defeat all of the bosses in the same way). I'm unsure whether it's meant to look like it does, but I feel like the creators could have tried a little harder with the graphics, as they make the game look a little old. Don't let this deter you, though - Deep Freeze is a fun game to play.

Games Master Challenge: Complete the game.

Game #004: Ice Slide

Controls: Click and hold to fire, and mouseclick to jump over obstacles whilst sliding.

Difficulty: Hard

Objective: Fire your chosen polar animal across the snowy surroundings, as far as you can. Make it jump over obstacles, otherwise it will slow down, and eventually stop.

Source: Miniclip

Creator: Miniclip

Rating: 2/5 - Even though Ice Slide is not a new concept to the world of internet gaming, having been done many times in different formats before, it is still a fun one worth playing, if you have the time. It's not something you should especially make time to play it, though. The game has fairly good graphics, with a choice of three polar animals to hurl - a Walrus, a Seal or a Penguin. However, the penguin is by far the best animal to launch, so it seems pointless even having the other options. To add to this, the game feels quite unfair at times, not seeming to let you jump over the obstacles. You should play Ice Slide, but only if you have some spare time on your hands...

Games Master Challenge: Launch your creature over 500 metres.

Game #003: Ultimate Raceway

Start Screen

Click here to play the game!

Controls: Up to accelerate, Down to brake, Left and right to steer.

Difficulty: Hard

Objective: To win all of the challenges, by beating your opponents in races. Make sure you keep an eyes on your tires and fuel, however, or you'll end up being out.

Source: Candystand

Creator: Candystand

Rating: 3/5 - Many 3D driving games, such as Ultimate Raceway struggle, because they load slowly, have fairly poor graphics, and in reality are just a pain to play, sometimes even crashing your computer or PC. Ultimate Raceway has dodged most of the bullet, but there are still a few drawbacks. There is plenty to do in the game, with free-race modes as well as challenge modes, and three different tracks to keep you entertained, along with five different cars to drive. However, the loading probably could be faster, and I have found incompatibility issues with certain computers, due to Shockwave being used in the game. As well as this, the camera angles are often slightly in the wrong place, and the braking always feels wrong. Overall, it is an entertaining game, but can be as equally an annoying one.

Games Master Challenge: I did a lap of the European (first) track in 52 seconds. Can you beat that?

Game #002: Monkey Kick Off

Controls: Mouseclick or Any key to kick the ball.

Difficulty: Easy

Objective: A very simple game really, (perhaps too simple, when it comes down to it). Just click to kick the ball, and see how far you can get it to go. A good idea would be to click after the monkey has kicked the ball up high.

Source: Miniclip

Creator: Miniclip

Rating: 3.5/5 - Despite being a fairly simple idea for a game, Monkey Kick-Off does pull it off in a good way, being very addictive at times, especially if you just miss out on the score you were wishing for. The fact that you can challenge your friends via email can make it a competitive game, too. Unfortunately, the game is too simple, to be frank, and once the novelty value wears off (which won't be after the first play, admittedly), you won't wish to play it any further.

Games Master Challenge: See if you can beat a distance of 4100 metres exactly.

Game #001: Ninja Rampage

(Warning: Game contains violence, gore and death).

Controls: Left, Right, Up and Down to move, A, S and D to attack.

Difficulty: Easy, progressively harder.

Objective: Basically, you need to run around the levels, as a ninja, and kill the people in it. There are traps to watch out for, however, as well as the fact that the people you attack will have weapons of their own. If you want to be a true ninja, you must kill your enemies without them seeing you. Try to advance through all the levels!

Source: FreeOnlineGames.com

Creator: FreeOnlineGames.com

Rating: 4.5/5 - Ninja Rampage is an incredibly well-made game, with a clever yet simple system of controls. The objective of the game (below), is simple enough too, but is really engrossing when it comes down to it. There are many well-thought out levels, full of traps, enemies and in some cases, special ways to kill them. In fact, my only problem with this game, would be that it is never as good, the second time you play it, as all the levels are the set, the same each time you play. Nevertheless, Ninja rampage is one great game!

Games Master Challenge: I completed all 21 levels with at least a master rank. Can you?

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to The Game Void. Here, I will show you a new flash game as often as I can, giving them ratings, and showing you their controls, and how to play them. As well as that, there may be a review of a console game (ie: on the Nintendo DS or the PS2), from time to time, so keep checking back on the blog.

I am the Games Master, (self-proclaimed) master of the games, and feel free to contest with any scores which I may put up on the blog, to beat. At the moment this is still a new blog, but hopefully it will end up being huge! Coming up next, is the debut game for the blog.
