Game #017: Light People on Fire

(Warning: Game does contain pointless but violent action in it.)

Light People on Fire - Start Screen

Controls: Arrow keys to move, Space bar to light on fire, and Control (Ctrl) to disguise as a tree.

Difficulty: Easy

Objective: Light as many people on fire as you can, to earn points, but watch out for rain clouds, which will slowly put your fire out. To prevent this from happening, disguise yourself as a tree. Doing so will also stop people from running away from you. Keep an eye on your 60 second time limit, too.

Rating: 3.5/5 - Light People on Fire is definitely a random enough game (just think of the title, after all), with a random concept, and random ways of acting in it, but at least it is simple enough to play, and easy enough to possibly get you a little addicted. The game has nice, fun graphics, and the way the music changes when you set yourself is alight, being nice and calm when disguised, but abruptly switching to heavy metal once on fire, is quite clever, adding a good effect. Despite having clouds to watch out for, and a time limit, the game feels a little empty, seeing as the concept is perhaps too simple, and you are confined to such a small area.

Games Master Challenge: Score 15,000 points.

Game #016: Line Runner

Line Runner - Start Screen

Click here to play the game!

Controls: Move mouse to draw the line for the Line Runner to run on, Mouseclick to run upside-down on the line and then back again if required, Space bar to pause, and Left and Right Arrow Keys to toggle sound.

Difficulty: Medium on Normal or Free Run modes, Hard on Survival Mode

Objective: Normal Mode - Finish the stage as quickly as you can, collecting certain items for a boost of speed, a hyper mode, and weather effects, and avoiding certain items which slow you down. Items explained in-game.

Survival Mode - Survive for as long as you can against an enemy trying to shoot you down, collecting certain items for extra lives, and avoiding certain items which lose you lives. Items explained in-game.

Creator: Crazy Monkey Games

Rating: 4/5 - At first Line Runner may seem like a simple game, having a simple concept, but with different modes, and items to watch out for, Line Runner can be a lot more complex than it seems. The game boasts good graphics, and fairly quick loading times, as well as being fun and easy to play. Line Runner's only problem may be that it is quite annoying to play when tired, as it can become exceedingly annoying, when the ease to play suddenly seems to disappear.

Games Master Challenge: Get a combo of 20 or over in Normal Mode and/or Survive for at least 3 minutes in Survival Mode.

Game #015: 4 Second Madness

4 Second Madness - Get Ball in Goal

Click here to play the game!

Controls: Space bar and Arrow Keys in all of the microgames, how to use them is fairly self-explanatory.

Difficulty: Easy, but puts you under pressure

Objective: Complete all of the microgames in under four seconds, or survive in the challenges for four seconds. There is a mysterious boss to defeat, also. Hint: Keep an eye on your lives, if possible.

Rating: 4/5 - Four Second Madness is definitely a different game, as I can't think of any games like it, but it is a very good one, too. All of the microgames will only take you about a minute to complete (if you're very talented at the game), so it is great for when you have a short break. The challenges are simple, but engrossing, and if you end up with a mere life left, you may find adrenalin pumping through your system. It has brilliant music, and great graphics to match. My only reservation with the game are that it loses some of its appeal after completion, as it is so short. Therefore, the game earns itself a suitable four out of five.

Games Master Challenge: Finish all of the twenty microgames, with all of your lives, in under a 125 seconds.

Game #014: Pinch Hitter 2

Play Games at AddictingGames

Controls: Same as the previous game, Move mouse to aim bat, Mouseclick to swing and select options on menus.

Difficulty: Hard

Objective: The same style-game as Pinch Hitter: (A backyard-style game of baseball, in which you need to try and hit the ball with your bat and score as many points as you can. Hit 'x2' signs to score double points on your shot, and make sure you hit the ball and aren't caught out.), but now with many challenges to complete, all of which earning you points.

Source: AddictingGames.com

Creator: Mousebreaker

Rating: 3/5 - Like the name would suggest, Pinch Hitter 2 is the sequel to Pinch Hitter, a well-made game with few faults, except for the small amount of things to actually do, in the game. Now, that problem has been seen to, as there are many challenges to complete, all of which earning you points. To add to this, if you are a real Baseball fan, you can play as your favourite team, as your favourite player (or yourself), and customize your team colours. Unfortunately, I do feel that the game itself has become harder and less enjoyable to play because of it, as well as feeling a lot more formal, and less insincere (fun) than the original. Seeing as it is a sequel, the game isn't as original as the first, and although this can't be helped, it still dents the games appeal.

Games Master Challenge: Complete all of the challenges.

Game #013: Pinch Hitter

(New: Difficulty ratings for all games!)

Play Games at AddictingGames

Controls: Move mouse to aim bat, Mouseclick to hit the ball.

Difficulty: Medium at first, otherwise easy

Objective: A backyard-style game of baseball, in which you need to try and hit the ball with your bat and score as many points as you can. Hit 'x2' signs to score double points on your shot, and make sure you hit the ball and aren't caught out.

Source: AddictingGames.com

Creator: Mousebreaker

Rating: 4/5 - Pinch Hitter is quite a good game to play if you have a quick break from work, school or whatever. It has a definite cute feeling to it, and can be very addictive to play, as you try to beat your own high score, or mine (see challenge). The game can be quite tedious and annoying at the beginning whilst you try to get the hang of it, but after that, you'll be scoring plenty of home runs.

Games Master Challenge: Beat a score of 8851.

Game #012: Vector TDX

Vector TDX Start Screen

Controls: Mouseclick to do everything.

Difficulty: Medium, progressively harder

Objective: Deploy your towers strategically to shoot down your enemies as they come pass. Make sure you upgrade or buy stronger ones, as the levels get harder with stronger and stronger enemies. Hint: deploy your towers in a square so that two towers can shoot an enemy at once.

Source: Candystand

Creator: Candystand

Rating: 4.5/5 - Vector TDX is one of the best games I've ever played. It is well-made, with a futuristic feel to the game that entices you. It may not be the first Shock Defense style game ever made, but it is definitely one of the best out there. The game is easy to play, fun to play (though it can be a little tedious at times), so you should really try it now!

Games Master Challenge: Finish at least 40 of the 50 levels.

Game #011: Icescape

(Happy New Year everyone!)

Warning: Game contains Adults Themes, Blood and Gore.

Icescape Start Screen

Controls: Move Mouse to move torch around, Mouseclick to pick up and use items, I to open inventory.

Difficulty: Hard

Objective: Navigate your way around the the area, picking up items to complete puzzles, and hopefully escape, whilst you unravel the mystery of what is going on around you. Be aware of your ever-dropping body temperature, because if you get too cold, you die...

Source: MoFunZone

Creator: Mousebreaker

Rating: 4/5 - Icescape is a brilliant game to play. With a horror storyline, in which you are trapped inside a complex in the middle of a snowy desert, you must escape, but you must survive as well. This game is much more complex than most of the 'escape' games, but is still very easy to play, and thrilling. At times it can feel a little tedious, and this is not the game for the young player, but nonetheless, Icescape is a thriller.

Games Master Challenge: Survive the game.
